Solaria film srl was born in 2013, to produce the documentary entitled Io Sono Nata Viaggiando by Irish Braschi, a national co-production with Karousel Film and Ga & A productions, in collaboration with Rai Cinema and NBC Universal: a journey into the memories of the famous writer Dacia Maraini.
The documentary was released in cinemas in the EXTRA THE SPACE circuit and was programmed by Rai Tre.
The company can count on the experience of Emanuele Nespeca, producer and executive producer, graduated in History of Theater and Entertainment, member of the Atelier du Cinema Europeen since 2010 and Producers on the move 2016. He began his film career in 2005 producing among the other films such as PIETRO by Daniele Gaglianone (in competition at the Locarno Festival 2010) and NEWS DEGLI SCAVI by Emidio Greco (Out of Competition at the Venice Film Festival 2010), Banat, debut film by the talented Adriano Valerio, jury prize for best short film at Cannes 2013 , produced together with the partner company Movimento Film ..

In 2014 Solaria Film collaborated in the realization of the collective project “Short Plays” – a series of football-themed shorts for the 2014 World Cup – produced and conceived by the Mexican company BROSSALCUADRADO GB in collaboration with TELEAZTECA and UNIVISION, producing the Italian short film Mano directed by Luca Lucini.

In 2015 Solaria Film curated and produced the first TV series for Discovery entitled Due Rugbisti E Una Meta , broadcast on DMAX (channel 52) during the 2015 Six Nations championship.
In the same year he produced Redemption Song by Cristina Mantis, an investigation into new forms of slavery, winner of the Rai Cinema Recognition at the 1st International Documentary Festival Visioni dal Mondo, and This Italy Suona Jazz < / strong> by Marco Guelfi, curious reconstruction of the birth of the first National Orchestra Young Talents of Jazz, preview as a special event at the 56th Festival dei Popoli in Florence.

In 2017 it co-produced with the Swiss company Peacock Film, the feature film for the cinema 7 Days by Rolando Colla. The film, recognized of Cultural Interest, is made with the support of MIBACT, REGIONE SICILIA, RSI TV and with ARTE. It is released in theaters in Italy, Switzerland, England and is sold in the Netherlands and France.

In 2108 he produced Wilma Labate’s documentary Arrivederci Saigon , in co-production with Rai Cinema and Tralab, presented at the 75th Venice International Film Festival and present in the final five of the Nastri d’Argento and the David di Donatello 2019; Giulio Base’s film The Anarchist Banker , also presented at the 2018 Venice Film Festival, where it won the Persephone Award; the film White Flowers by Marco De Angelis and Antonio Di Trapani, co-produced with the Regions of Calabria and Liguria, with Rai Cinema and with the Roma Tre University; the documentary Entierro by Maura Morales Bergmann, co-production with Italy and Chile, the first project supported by Ibermedia; the short film Da Lassù by Teresa Paoli, presented at the Giffoni Film Festival 2018 and guest at the Cinekid International Children’s Film Festival in Amsterdam.

At the end of 2020, the documentary Ciampi. Bella la mi ‘Livorno , by Marco Guelfi, on the figure of the President of the Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi and his relationship with the city is released of Livorno, streaming on Rai Play.

The year 2021 starts well, with the release of Glassboy by Samuele Rossi, from February on demand on all major platforms and in virtual cinemas through the #iorestoinsala initiative, and continues with the development of exciting new projects.

In 2022 the documentary on the most famous couple in the history of rowing ‘Due Con – la storia dei Fratelli Abbagnale’ by Felice V. Bagnato and Gianluca De Martino, a production in collaboration with Rai Documentari, RSI Televisione Svizzera on the legends of rowing.

SOLARIA FILM is producing two films. The first is entitled ‘La Sera di Tutti i Giorni’ by Felix Tissi, a work where man’s existential loneliness is the real protagonist and the inner drama of the protagonists is portrayed. It represents the fourth collaboration with Swiss Peacock Film, released in July 2023.
The second is a documentary starring the greatest champion in our basketball history. Dino Meneghin – storia di una leggenda (Dino Meneghin – story of a legend) by Samuele Rossi, where the great Dino Meneghin talks about himself as never before. A production in collaboration with Rai Documentari, on the life of basketball player Dino Meneghin, to be aired on Rai Tre on 7 October 2023.

After its world premiere at the São Paulo Film Festival in 2023, Until the End of Music by Cristiane Oliveira landed in Italy, winning the Best Director 2024 award at the Bergamo Film Meeting, with great approval from audiences and critics. The film narrates the elaboration of mourning by a Brazilian lady with strong Italian roots. A co-production with Brazil, Okna Producoes, financed by ANCINE and the MIC.
Un Messicano Sulla Luna by Luis Yanez is a fresh and brilliant comedy that follows the great feat of conquering space but with a rather unusual perspective. Co-production with Mexico, Arte Mecanica, with contributions from Eficine and MiC/DGCA, world premiere at the Guadalajara Film Festival 2024.

After its world premiere at the Noir in Festival in 2024, we are eager to show you Violetta Rovetto’s ‘Il Migliore Dei Mali’ (Violetta rocks), a film that deals with several socially felt themes, including environmentalism, growing up and gender personalities, all in a superhero sauce.
